Today we got to look closely at animals and practiced drawing them. We looked at the pelts and saw all the different colors in the furs. We learned how to use colors to make them look real life. Tomorrow we will take what we learned and make cave drawings!

Place Works Fun!
Today was exciting! Place Works came to visit 1st grade! Ms. Dutton, Mrs. Dorland's student teacher, arranged this special treat for our classrooms. Their teachers brought information about cave drawings to us! We learned about the different animals in the pictures and their characteristics. We learned these drawings were done a very long time ago... Over 30,000 years ago. We had a chance to feel some animal pelts and tomorrow we get to learn to draw some of these animals. Thanks Ms. Dutton!

Bees, bees, bees!
We had an awesome morning! Ethan's grandpa came to our class to share what he knows about bees and beekeeping. We learned so many things about bees and why they are important to our environment. We also got to try some of Mr. Snavely's honey! What a fun time!
