We had a great time finishing our Book Club!  The students did a great job learning how to form a book club, look closely at their story, and discuss what their story was about. They worked very hard this week.

This week, I created a listening station using an old iPod.  I transferred all my books on cd to this and now the students can sit anywhere in class and listen to a book. Listening to books is a great way for students to learn new words and work on their comprehension skills!  It has been a great thing to have in class and the students love using the technology. The students are anxiously waiting for their turnJ

If you would like to donate to the class and have an old iPod or iPhone that is sitting in a drawer, it would make a great listening stationJ  we would love to have any you are no longer using!  This would enable more students access to the books.

Don't Forget!

Next Week on April 18th, we will be taking our trip to the Nature Center.  Please make sure all permission slips and money are turned in by next Monday, April 14th.

We had a great week doing our book club with Chocolatina by Erik Kraft.  The students learned to look at a book closer and answer specific questions about the book.  On Friday, they were able to share their ideas with a friend.  Have your child tell you all about Chocolatina when they get home today!
